Frequently Asked Questions
Completion times for each individual memorial may vary due to several factors. For instance certain special shapes or imported granites may take 90 to 120 days to receive at our production facility. Sometimes due to inclement weather a cemetery will not allow our setting crews on the grounds until the area is dry enough that setting will not be detrimental to the section in which the memorial is to be installed.
At SI Memorials we strive to put our customer’s needs above all else. If we indeed have the granite on hand in our inventory, we aim for a 6 to 8 week turnaround from approval of the final design to installation in the cemetery.
Due to the custom nature of each individual memorial, payment in full must be made before a monument is produced and placed in the cemetery. Payment options may be available and vary by location, but until the memorial has been paid in full it shall remain the property of Suhor Industries, Inc.
You are only limited by two things when designing a memorial: The overall size of the granite and your imagination. From the most elaborate components and font styles to the most simple and elegant design choices, your SI Memorials monument professional can guide you in choosing the right components to reflect the life and memory of your loved ones. Occasionally, cemetery regulations may place limitations or restrictions on memorialization options. Your SI Memorials monument professional will help verify these details.
Depending on the type of memorial you choose, there is no extra cost for lettering or design components. There are very few exceptions such as lettering the back of an upright tablet, on-site lettering at time of need, or laser portrait and artistic etchings. Generally, standard sandblasted designs are included in the cost of the memorial.
We at SI Memorials put every effort into a guaranteed Memorial Day installation. Annually we set a date in which all memorials must be approved and paid for to ensure a Memorial Day setting. However, unforeseen complications (such as weather, drop offs for the cemetery to set themselves, etc.) as well as special order granite shapes and colors taking longer to quarry and receive may hamper our efforts.
That being said, our Memorial Day installation track record is impeccable and we work very hard to put your needs at this time above all else.
No. There are some private and municipal cemeteries that have requirements that their own crews that take care of monument installation. In that instance we deliver the memorial directly to the cemetery at which time it becomes their responsibility to install it in a timely manner.
If for some reason there is a problem with memorial installation in that instance, just notify your SI Memorials monument professional for assistance in contacting the cemetery for information.
SI Memorials guarantees the quality of our granite products to be free of damage, and the design and lettering to be exactly as you have approved. If for any reason at all there is damage such as a chip or scratch to the surface of your monument prior to installation, we will repair or replace the monument at no charge to you.
However, once placed in the cemetery SI Memorials is no longer responsible for problems such as storm damage, damage caused by general cemetery maintenance, or vandalism.
Many homeowner insurance policies now carry provisions to include monuments and memorials. Please speak directly with an insurance provider to answer any questions you may have in this regard.
